Huan, In the directory /home/s1/yanny/sel2003m31 please find 5 plPlugMapT*.par files, and a plObs-9400-9404.par (and a tiTileCenters file) file. They are currently numbered 9400-9404, but can be renumbered to whatever. These contain F star and QSO targets in the vicinity of M31, taken from SDSS imaging runs 3366/3367. These are the extension of the F star program from last year for August observing. No one has targeted near here before, so there should be no issue of overlap with previous targets. I believe the plates will run through plate and fiber and plug ok, please let me know if there are any issues and I will be happy to quickly fix them up. These plates fall in the 'F star' plates program (with the addition of quasar targets around M31 (on the same plates as the F stars, which I have run past Dan VandenBerk and Jim Annis, and they are excited by it). If we can get any/all of these 5 observed (all RA ~ 0 to 1 hours, dec=33-46 degrees) plus any of the remaining ones from last fall (plates 1151, 1152, 1153 were drilled last year and have RA ~ 22 hours, dec=0), and haven't been observed yet we will be very happy. Two positions (one on each side of M31 along the long axis) have two plates designed each (there were that many targets), The third position (nearest to M31 at (RA,DEC) = (8, 38.6)) has one plate designed. As before, they should be exposed for the 'double length' exposure, aiming for a total of about 1.5-2 hrs total integration time. The F star selection for the M31 plates are 18.5 < g < 19 (except for RA=5 where 18.5 < g_0 < 19.5), and 0.1 < g-r_0 < 0.5. There are about 2700 F stars 'in the ring' targetted on the 5 plates, we sample a bit redder, so we expect about 40% or so of these to actually be 'in the ring structure'. The QSO selection is from Dan Vandenberks M31 SDSS imaging web page: http://lahmu.phyast.pitt.edu/~danvb/M31.html (I subselected from the sdssclean sample at the bottom of the page) There are about 250 quasar candidates targeted here on these 5 plates. -brian
